Passive: Zaun Experimental Trans-formative-Upgradable Rifle
Verrat purloined this weapon from the College of Techmaturgy in Zaun, and has claimed it as his own, and uses it in his abilities. He also stole the prototype upgrades that can be installed on it. Every 3 minutes, a random collectible upgrade appears somewhere within a certain distance of Verrat, visible to him and his allies, but only collectible by him. Once obtained, Verrat installs the upgrade to the Upgradable-Rifle, permanently granting it's bonus to his basic attacks or ability (dependent on what the upgrade is tailored to) from that point on. The upgrade is chosen at random, and multiple versions of the same upgrade can be collected, but the bonus caps at 4. The upgrade remains until it is picked up or the 3-minute time limit runs out, in which case it disappears and replaced by another random upgrade somewhere on the map.

"Enforcer" Bullet Amplifier: Increases Verrat's BASE basic attack-power by 5%/7%/9%/11%.

"Titan" Pellets: Increases the power of Malignant Spray's pellets by 5% for each upgrade collected.

"True-Ice" Replicant Coating: Increases the power and duration of Nitrogen Shell's slow by 5% and 0.25 seconds for each upgrade collected.

"Shocker" Bolts: Increases the power of the "Fake-Out" secondary blast of Volatile Bolt by 5% for each upgrade collected.

"Behemoth-Class" Catalyst Accelerator: Increases the final explosive power of Meteor Flare 10% for each upgrade collected.

Q: Malignant Spray (Range: 400) (MP Cost: 50/60/70/80/90) (Cool-Down: 18/17/16/15/14 Seconds)
Active: Verrat activates the Experimental-Rifle's "HIGH-CAPACITY-MODE", and fires a seemingly endless stream of bullets in the target direction for the next 4 seconds, with the bullets striking and damaging the first unit they come in contact with. Verrat can strafe in various directions when using this ability, but cannot change the direction he fires in once begun.
Passive: Verrat gains 20% AS (Attack Speed) while this ability is on cool-down, referred to as "Excess Ammo".

W: Nitrogen Shell (Range: 500 -Verrat's range to fire the shell; Range:300 -Size of Slow's area-of-effect) (MP Cost: 80) (Cool-Down: 21/19/17/15/13 Seconds)
Active: Verrat activates the Experimental-Rifle's "CROWD-PACIFICATION-MODE", and fires a shell in the target direction that explodes upon the first unit it comes in contact with, lightly damaging and slowing units inside its circular area-of-effect. The slow lingers for a few seconds, weakening over-the-duration.

E: Volatile Bolt (Range: 600 -Verrat's range to place the bolt; Range: 300 -Size of Bolt's area-of-effect) (MP Cost: 30/40/50/60/70) (Cool-Down: 10 Seconds)
Active: Verrat activates the Experimental-Rifle's "RADIUS-BOLT-MODE", and fires a special bolt at the target area and it lingers there for 5 seconds. While there, it radiates electricity, damaging units in it's radius, with the radius growing wider over-the-duration. After the 5 seconds have passed, the bolt seems to lose power, but then suddenly explodes, damaging units inside the radius once again. (Units damaged by the electric pulses take reduced damage if also harmed by the explosion.)

R: Meteor Flare (Range: 1000) (MP Cost: 100) (Cool-Down: 120/110/100 Seconds)
Active: Verrat activates the Experimental-Rifle's "RICOCHET-BLAST-MODE", and fires a straight, thin laser-beam that greatly damages and ricochets about, bouncing around enemy champions randomly, exploding after up 5 bounces. (The damage weakens with each successive bounce on the same enemy unit, but is reset to the maximum when the explosion occurs.)

Lore

If there's one thing that's true about Verrat, it's that he never tells the truth. If he were to tell you the sun was going to rise in the east, look to the west. Born and self-raised as a thief in Bilgewater, he revels in the lawlessness of his home, because it provides with him all the deceitful opportunities he could ever hope for. He was once the leader of a conglomerate of thieves and black-market dealers who acted as a group-for-hire. After a certain job reportedly went sour, a thieving raid on the College of Techmaturgy's experimental wing, Verrat was rumored to have killed the other members of his group to prevent them from backstabbing him, as well as his employer. But that's not the story Verrat would tell you.

Two men are sitting in a room opposite of each other, dimly lit by a lantern hanging loosely from the ceiling.

"So, you want us to break into the College's experimental wing?"

"Yes."

"What's in there that's got you in so much of a tizzy?"

"A certain... weapon, let's call it. It doesn't belong to those half-baked professors, they stole it."

"So you're having us steal something that's already been stolen?"

"And delivering it to it's original owner, yes."

"And who might that be?"

"Me. I designed that thing. Those scheming opportunists saw what I was making, and kicked me out so they could take the glory. But the only thing they'll be taking, is a trip 6-feet underground. I've got some pretty interesting 'add-ons' for it once you bring it back to me."

"You know our services don't come cheap. How much you offering up front?"

"I assure you, you will be handsomely paid for this. I also give you leave to take whatever you find of interest in that wing, and sell or use it to your heart's content."

"I said, how much you offering up FRONT? We don't take jobs without a certain amount of 'Layaway' gold. For contingency purposes."

The man on the right grumbles, and then reaches behind him. He pulls a hefty bag of gold into the light, and then drops it on the table.

"Will this do for your 'contingency purposes'?"

"Not really, but since I like you, I'll take it anyway."

The man on the left grabs the bag of gold, stands up and starts to leave. The man on the right calls as he opens a door.

"Remember, whatever of interest in there is yours to do with as you please. With certain exceptions."

The man on the left grins a somewhat unnerving smile as he turns back towards the man on the right side of the table. As he does, his face is illuminated by the lantern above, revealing to be Verrat.

"Don't worry, you can trust me."

A few weeks later...

4 men are seen stumbling into an alleyway. One carries a sword in his left hand, and holds a pistol in his right. He carries a long thin box strapped to his back and surveys the area to make sure they are in the clear. 2 are carrying a long, much larger, rectangular-shaped box, while the fourth sits on the ground to catch his breath. One of the two carriers forcibly hands their portion off to the sitting man, and walks up angrily to the armed fellow.

"This was NOT worth what just went down, Verrat! So many of us got caught and arrested, or worse!"

"They knew the risks, Barton."

"No, they didn't! Because you didn't tell us! And we didn't even get to hang by and snag any of that extra stuff!"

"Save it, Barton. We can 'discuss' this after we've gotten our second payment."

"Yeah, Yeah..."

They vanish into the shadows, still carrying the box, with the two men still arguing.

A short time later, they are seen inside the same room as before when the deal was being made. The man from before rubs his hands together excitedly.

"Excellent. And it still functions, correct?"

"Yeah. Want me to test it to prove that to you? I got a target in mind..."

Verrat looks back angrily at Barton, who now has a visible black-eye. Verrat's other two underlings set the long rectangular box down on the ground.

"No need. The fact that you have it is proof enough."

The man walks up to the box and opens it. It is empty.

"What!?"

He angrily turns to Verrat.

"Where is it!?"

Verrat just shrugs.

"Where's the rest of our payment?"

"You don't get it till I get that rifle. Now where is it!?"

Verrat reaches behind him and pulls the box off his back. Before the man can do anything, he's pulled out and primed the gun to fire.

"What!? You said I could trust you!"

Verrat smiles that unnerving grin from before as he places his finger on the trigger.

"Never trust a Bilgewater man. Didn't your mama learn you that when you were young?"

Verrat fires, and the man falls dead to the ground. He then turns towards his fellows. Barton gives him a thumbs-up.

"Nice work, Verrat! That bastard probably wouldn't have paid us the rest if we'd given it to him anyways!"

Verrat shoots Barton, and he falls dead without another groan. The other two men jump back in shock. Before they can say anything, Verrat shoots them as well. He then walks over and turns on the lights. He sees 5 packages piled in one corner of the room. The smile returns to his face.

Quotes

Selection
Let's give this thing a shot.

Movement
There's tons of ways to work this thing.
Learn on the fly.
What's this switch do, I wonder?
Let's get this thing workin'.
I'm moving on up with this thing.
Got alot of ways to shoot a man, now.
Sword? Heh, this'll be the only weapon I'll ever need now.
Where's those boxes?
I'm always losing sight of those upgrades.
I'll get this thing down, eventually.
Never trust a Bilgewater man.

Upon pick-up of an upgrade
There we go.
That'll fix it.
Hoo boy, you're in for it now.

Attacking
Let's test something on ya.
Give this a whirl!
Let's try this mode on ya.
A bullet'll shut ya up.
(Mocking Tone) Of course I won't shoot ya.
This'll learn ya.
How about a bullet in your jaw?
Man, this thing's fun.
I got a present for ya.

Using Malignant Spray
There you go!
Try a piece of this!
Mow ya down!

Using Nitrogen Shell
Hold still!
Cool off!
Freeze and shut up!

Using Volatile Bolt
Shock 'em!
Watch out!
Here she comes!

Ya shoulda known!
(If a champion dies from the secondary explosion)
Fried ya up good! (Alternate saying)

Using Meteor Flare
Bound and Rebound.
Bounce and Blow!
Heads up!

How'd you like that!?
(If a champion dies from the secondary explosion)
Blew ya to bits! (Alternate saying)

Joke
Verrat admires his weapon and fiddles around with it. He pulls a small lever as he does, and an unexpected shell is ejected. He jumps away in fear of it exploding, but it turns out to be a dud.

Taunt
Verrat lays the rifle along his shoulders for a moment, and then points it skyward, and fires three shots into the air. The shots land around him, forming a triangle of sorts.
I gotta get me one of these. Oh wait, I have got me one of these!
It's one-of-a-kind. Just like me.
So many ways to shoot ya, that I can't decide!

Taunting near an enemy Viktor
Zaun's a buncha eggheads. They can make nice weapons though.
You jealous, Viktor? Well I ain't letting you have it!
Just try reverse-engineering this thing, Viktor!

Taunting near an enemy Gangplank
Let's see ya match this, Gangplank!
Your cannons got nothing on this thing!
No amount of Silver Serpents'll let ya buy this thing off me!

Taunting near an allied Graves
What was the name of the guy that made that for ya again?
I got a mind to see your gun-designer, Graves.
Whaddaya think of this thing, Graves? Nice, ain't it?

Taunting near an allied Twisted Fate
Who needs magic when you got guns, Tobias?
Them cards ain't got a thing on this.
How 'bout a game sometime, my rules?

Taunting near an allied Miss Fortune
Those are peashooters compared to this thing, Sarah.
Some work with Zaun-people can really pay, Bounty-hunter.
True, you backstab 'em, but that's what us Bilgewater folks do, innit?
(This line is meant to follow the one just above it.)

Dance
Verrat sets his gun down and starts doing various sailor jigs/dances as exemplified by Goofy in the Disney Cartoon, "How to be a Sailor" from 1944.

Death
Verrat is thrown on his back as his gun explodes violently. He struggles to get up for a moment, but then falls back down and becomes motionless.
P-Piece of junk...
Blasted thing...
Y-You ain't won yet...

Character Relations

Gangplank: Verrat dislikes Gangplank because of how long he had been the self-proclaimed "leader" of Bilgewater. He feels it's time for a new leader for their port-town, so what better person for that than Verrat himself?

Viktor: Viktor, during his time in the College of Techmaturgy, saw his unnamed associate (whom Verrat killed and stole his current weapon from) and it piqued his interest. He now seeks the experimental rifle, to see if parts of its design could help forward certain ideas of his "Glorious Evolution".

Graves: He considers Graves a 'friend', despite never actually working with him, as they thus far, have not interfered in each others business.

Twisted Fate: He extends the same feelings of 'friendship', towards Twisted Fate for the same reasons as Graves. Verrat also considers himself an excellent card player, so he might want to test his luck against Twisted Fate's seemingly unbeatable skills.

Miss Fortune: Verrat knows of Sarah Fortune's exploits, and wisely decided to sit-out the events of "Burning Tides", because he knew she was in no disposition to be trifled with at the time. He is actually just waiting for an opportunity to shoot her in the back, and claim the position of Bilgewater leadership himself.
Here's the next fella in my Champion Concept line, and my first attempt at a Marksman Champ, Verrat! I'm working on ideas of my next one, with the basic starting idea of a Banshee from the Shadow Isles, thinking of making her a support or a mage. If anyone has ideas that might work along that ideal, feel free to comment them to me! If I use them, I'll be sure to credit you.

i flew over his skills and (sorry) only over the first lines of his lore because atm i feel too lazy to read ^^;
however what i can say is that i like the concept of changing modes with the passive. at first i thought the skills were a bit op, but the cooldown seems fair and nerves it to a reasonable level.
at first i was wondering whether his name was supposed to be some new english name creation or the actual german noun, but after reading a tad about him, it seems to be the latter one :D
despite not having read everything (yet?), i think he's an interesting character. i'm very intrigued by how he'd look like :)
